Swimming assessment

All new clients are required to book into an assessment session prior to booking in to the learn-to-swim or school holiday swim intensive programs.

The assessment runs for approximately 45 minutes and includes:

  • an overview of our policies and procedures
  • pool facility tour
  • practical assessment with a swim school instructor (which enables us to place swimmers into their appropriate skill level).

Please bring swimwear, a towel and a swimming cap (available for purchase from reception).

It is free to have an assessment. To book an assessment, please contact us

Bookings, fees and waitlists

If you decide to book a position following your assessment, you are required to pay the balance for your booking up-front.

Classes fill up quickly and you may need to waitlist for classes if your preferred time and day are not available.

Fees are payable prior to the commencement of swimming lessons and enrolments will not be processed without payment. Current fees can be viewed on the Fees page.

Fees for school terms are based on 10 week terms unless otherwise noted. Please ask at your assessment for information on our discounts. Payment facilities include cash, cheque, credit and EFTPOS.

Payments are due by the end of term for enrolment into the following term.

Level promotions

Our on deck supervisors are responsible for the promotion of students through our levels. All participants will be assessed during week eight of each term and feedback will be provided regarding their progress. Please see the supervisor during this time for information about your child’s swimming. Some students may be assessed and promoted prior to week eight depending on readiness.

A supervisor will inform you when your child has been promoted and issue you with a promotion card. Please take this card to reception to enrol or waitlist for another class at the next level. If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress, please speak to one of our supervisors for assistance.

Tips for parents

  • Allow plenty of time for the commencement of lessons.
  • Swimming increases your appetite and thirst, so have snacks and water ready for when your child finishes lessons.
  • For the more advanced levels, ensure your child brings water to drink during swim sessions.
  • In the colder months it is important for your child to have warm clothing on prior to leaving the centre.
  • Please take note of communication notices posted on our notice boards.
  • Please do not leave personal belongings unattended. Lockers are available.

For further information on any of our programs please enquire at reception.
